Latest news coming in: In many cities the entrants have not been able to take the entrance test and have been told that they would have to reappear later sometime. Common Admission Test (2009) for admission to elite Management Institutes in India like IIM etc. was to be held online for the first time. About 3,00,000 students had to take an exam over 10days in different cities.

The contract for conducting CAT exam online was awarded to Prometric for about $40mn!

Interestingly, other blogs have talked about the possibility of CAT servers collapsing on the D-day months beforehand, so it was not something that came as a complete surprise. However, I had expected that the company ought to have taken adequate precautions regarding this.
